Poland prevents Moscow from attending OSCE
According to the Russian Public Institute of Electoral Law (ROIIP), Poland revoked the visas of Russian experts invited to the Warsaw Human Dimension Conference on the eve of the event, without offering any explanation.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Tass on Monday that “the authorities in Warsaw have long been engaged in destructive activities aimed at undermining and decimating the very essence of the OSCE.” She added that while the OSCE was founded over five decades ago to “promote security and cooperation” in Europe, the Polish government appears unwilling to support its mission.
“They apparently do not need this organization. They do not need the spirit and letter of the agreements laying its foundation,” Zakharova said. She argued that instead of engaging in “endless manipulative actions,” Warsaw should acknowledge its position and consider the consequences of its approach.
Zakharova also claimed that NATO members’ actions have left “little left of security and cooperation” in Europe.
Tensions between Moscow and Warsaw have risen in recent weeks. Late last month, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is “our war” and urged the West to increase support for Ukraine, emphasizing that a Russian victory would have far-reaching consequences across Europe, the US, and beyond.
Earlier in September, Poland accused Russia of drone incursions into its territory. The Russian Defense Ministry denied targeting the NATO country and offered consultations with the Polish military, but Warsaw has not responded.
